German cake



* ingredients:


°1/2 cup boil water
°4 ounces sweet German baking chocolate
°2 cups of sugar
°1 cup soft butter
°4 egg yolks
°1 tsp vanilla
°2 12 c cake flour
°1 tsp baking soda
°1 tsp salt
°1 cup of milk
 ° 4 egg whites, whisked until stiff
°Coconut and Pecan Frosting
°1 cup sugar (1 12 cups)
°1/2 cup butter (3/4 cup)
°1 c evaporated milk (12 ounce can)
°1 tsp vanilla (1 1/2 tsp)
°3 egg yolks (4 egg yolks)
°1 1/3 c coconut (2 cups)
°1 C chop pecans (1 1/2 cups)


 * Methods :

Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Greased 2 9" squares pans or 3 8" around pans.
Pour boiling water over the chocolate, stirring until the chocolate melts; Fabulous. Mix sugar and butter in a large bowl until mixture is light and fluffy. Beating in egg yolks, one at  time. Beating chocolate also vanilla on low speed.
Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt alternately with the buttermilk, beating after each addition until smooth. Add egg white.
Divide the mixture among the pans. Bake square pans for 40 to 45 minutes or round pans for 35 to 40 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick in the middle. Cool and garnish with a coconut-pecan glaze.
Coconut-Pecan Glaze: Combine sugar, butter, milk, vanilla, and egg yolks in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until firm, 12 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in coconut and pecans. Whisk until blended. Cool & thick before decorating cake
