Old oven peach cobbler



An old-fashioned fruit cobbler made with fresh or canned peaches. If using canned peaches, use canned juice instead of water.


*Ingredients

 °¼ cup butter
 °½ cup white sugar
 °1 cup all-purpose flour
 °¼ tsp salt
 °2 teaspoons of yeast
 °½ cup of milk
 °2 cups fresh peaches, pitted and sliced
 °¼ cup white sugar
 °¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
 °1½ cups of water
 
* Step by step :

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly butter a 9 x 9 inch glass pan.
In  bowl, cream butter / 1/2 cup sugar.
In  bowl, combined flour, salt // baking powder. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
Spread the mixture evenly in a baking dish.
If using canned peaches, drain them thoroughly, reserving the juice. Place the fruit on the dough.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar. Pour fruit juice or water over it.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 45 to 55 minutes. During cooking, fruit and juice go to the bottom and the dough rises.
