Grandma's Country White Bread

Oh My...Yummy bread and so easy in a mixer, my family's favorite !! This tasty combo of ingredients creates a nice and light dough, soft chewy crust !! Belive me, when give this a go, you won't eat that stuff from the store anymore !!

YOU'LL NEED :

- Luke-warm water: 3 cups

- Sugar: 1/4 cup

- Yeast: 1 to 1/2 tablespoon

- Oil: 1/3 cup

- Salt: 1 tablespoon

- Unbleached ground white wheat flour: 6 to 7 cups of ( you can aslo use regular all-purpose flour, but you will need almost 8 cups. This will make a softer, less-coarse bread)

- Vital wheat gluten: 1 tablespoon (if using whole white wheat flour) (OPTIONAL)

INSTRUCTIONS :

1. First, you're going to get a large mixing bowl and dissolve yeast in warm water and sugar; let sit for 10 minutes.

2. You'll want to add the oil then add the salt and flour. Start with 6 cups of flour then mix everything.

3. Knead the dough thoroughly for 6-10 minutes. This should make all ingredients incorporated, and dough smooth, elastic, very slightly sticky, and pulls away from the bowl. Meanwhile, add more flour, as needed, making sure to repeat the process until dough reaches the desired consistency.

4. Using a dish towel or plastic wrap, cover the bowl of dough and let rise for no less than 60 minutes, or until doubled. I prefer to place the covered bowl inside the oven with the oven light on. After that, I sit another bowl of warm water on the lower rack, so to speed up this process.
